Waterhouse Digital can trace its roots back to 1997 when sister Company WDA Automotive Marketing was formed to deliver specialist branding, creative and marketing services to the automotive sector.
When the recession hit in 2008 the automotive sector was impacted particularly hard, so we took the decision to temporarily diversify into other areas. At the same time, we were looking to bolster our digital offering and two former agency owners joined to help us achieve this. Along with the digital experience to drive a new team, they also brought with them a wealth of experience working within a range of exciting new sectors.
We were soon driving business for a host of brilliant non automotive brands nationally including RBS, Black Horse Finance, LB Foster Rail and The NHS; and locally for clients including Hannells, Derby College (we created their branding and logo!) and Derby City Council.
The momentum built and before long the Agency began to be recognised outside of our Automotive sector. When we were awarded a Telegraph Creative Industries Business of the Year award, we realised that we had the opportunity to operate this side of the business as an entity in its own right.
